If you want a place where you can quickly share information with your team, a SharePoint Blog Site will help you. You can use it as a hub that lists time-stamped posts and readers comments.

In most cases, the few customizations that the SharePoint Blog Site allows are enough for the purpose. For more complex needs, set up a Publishing Site instead.

Unlike Publishing Sites, Blog Sites are simple and easy to set up. They are ideal for small Sites that serve fewer contributors. There are good reasons why you may consider them a better option:

  • All templates are ready to be deployed and used;
  • Categories are quick to implement;
  • Although basic, the comment functionality is readily functional;
  • You can even publish content from your Microsoft Word document (Images are optimized and published automatically);

Most administrators make their Blog Site inherit permissions from the parent Site. But, you can configure unique custom permissions if you wish.
