To make it easier to stay current with sites, documents, tags, and people profiles in SharePoint, make use of the “Follow” feature. This way, using a simple interface, you stay connected to the updates that matter to you.

After you follow a site, for example, you will be able to get an aggregated display of any future updates in the Following view of your Newsfeed. It’s a way of bringing all the conversations to you without the need to navigate to the source.

To start getting updates from a site, navigate to that site, from the top ribbon, click on "Follow".

The short video below shows you how to follow sites and people.
